Paraphrase

Paraphrasing is summarizing or expressing the idea or argument in different words than those used by the original author. It is common practice in reports when it is advantageous to use someone else's argument or opinion. This requires a reference to properly attribute the work to its creator. If no reference appears, even if it is unintentional, then it is plagiarism.
